We are repeatedly informing all of you about the upcoming Firefox OS Smartphones by various brands. Couple of months back we shared a video of LG Leo running on Firefox OS. Even way back in February at MWC 2013 LG shows off their upcoming device, but behind the glass. Eventually we came to know that Telefonica/Vivo will launch it in Brazil (Brasil) in September, but later they have delayed it to Q4. We also revealed the full tech specification of LG Leo.
Fresh news just came in from our partner site pinguins moveis (IN Portuguese) from Brasil that LG has seriously testing their device with the latest version of Firefox OS (v184.108.40.206) ahead of its release. The image shows below that a Smartphone code named ‘D300f’ has been testing the Firefox OS for at least couple of months now. Now a million dollar question is whether the LG D300f is LG Leo or not. This device has already pass the SIG Bluetooth test way back in May 2013.
For Mozilla, Brasil is a bit tricky market as ZTE virtually disappeared from domestic handset market. Alcatel One Touch is still an illustrious unknown in Brazil. Compare with the power of LG in Brazil put the product in the points of sale. Even though Alcatel has a weak presence their in Brasil, we believe with a good amount of promotion along with Mozilla & Telefonica Vivo they will make some noise in the Brazilian market with low cost (budget) segment.
Currently we can’t confirm the date of release but we can assure you that, we will be the first one to reveal the secret to you all. Till then stay with us.
